Brian make them give you an invantory of what you bring in to the USA that way when you go back they can see it coming back!
Don't waste a good opportunity to shut up!

I would tell you to go to hell but I already work there and I don't want to see your ugly face every day!

I have Polk LSi 7 here on my deck bi-amped with a Carver 705 and they blow away any of my neighbors outdoor stuff. I would really like to hear your 15's.

This year, I don't plan on bringing a TON of stuff like we did last year... (probably will anyway)
This year, I have to deliver a brand new set of AL-V's to a forum member (won't be taking them home)

Our system will consist of:

PC with 200gb of music
Possibly a CD player
No idea what Preamp, if we bring one at all.
New Silver-7 Tube amps (built by me)
The new 2010 ALS (built and designed by both Bob and I)
We might bring the JL subs we have, just for fun, plus an amp to run them... dono yet

I hope that's it.... I really don't want to bring a ton of shit this year.
Less work, and more play =D>

I'm thinking about bringing some of my gear down.

I was wondering if anyone might have an extra strictly SACD/CD player laying around that I could use for the duration of my stay. The 15th-20th. I have an OPPO 980h but I'd like to put my ears on something different and maybe better than what I'm using at the moment.

No biggie if not. Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Tentative List for Cabin 6

Carver Stuff:

TL-3100
HR-772 (for tuner, and rear channel amps, etc.)
C-16 (I’d like to test the phono preamp section on somebody’s vinyl, at some point)
Phase Linear 1000 (modified)
ESC (Silver)
A-753x – two of these, biamping the …
Silver Amazings – two pairs.
A pair of rear ambiance speakers
A second PL 1000 and ECS, for the day I set up discrete 3-channel sound, playing the HSCD 3 ch versions of 50 year old master tapes from RCA and Mercury.

Non-Carver:

Sony HSCD/DVD player
Ampex 1150 Open Reel
(If you have 4-track open reel tapes you haven’t heard in ages, bring a few and play ‘em.)
SST Trinaural Processor
Three-channel Marchand crossover
New dbx 231 equalizer, still in the wrapper

That's only about 500 lb. so I might throw in a pair of Legacy Classics for extra ballast.

Ah, George you just reminded me to have you bring your Tyler's. You had mentioned that you might bring them out of the closet and pair them up with a sub, well? I have hooked you up, brother. We'll do it the right way and it won't cost you a penny to audition the set-up.

George - Tyler Acoustic's Linbrook Monitors
Tom - Velodyne SMS-1 Subwoofer management system
Mike - Polk sub [model unknown] to where Bob Carver designed the amp.

We'll figure out where to set it up when we get there. For proper height and placement, I would suggest bringing the stands too, unless they fit on the [custom speaker] stands you have.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

Tom they are Taylos monitors--and I'll have room for only one set of speakers in the vehicle,, now if someone is seriously gonna buy em,,I might be persuaded to bring em,,but I had planned on bringing the newer monitors and the quicksilvers,,and now a new pre for us to eval,,lemme' re think how I might be able to do it.

Hmmmm, let me think on that one......

That is a no-brainer, just have to figure out when the finances would dictate and if I could wing it in time without the wife killing me. Regardless, I still would like you to bring the new speakers. You seem pretty excited about them and I'm looking forward to hearing them again, now that they have properly broken in. Would you know if Jerry would have any extra room for safe transfer?
