Sweet. I'd be interested in hearing the Jap version -vs- the American version as well as a head to head with a refurbished TFM-55 -vs- one that has been in constant use. Never even heard of the Sonic Frontier pre, so that'll be a learning experience for many, I would imagine.

I have a good idea what beemers417 and BrianT will bring down but I will let them respond.

I have since acquired an SD/A 390t that will be joining my other equipment at CF this year. I don't think we can fit my Plats with everything else we are taking so they are going to stay home.

Oh dear....does it work? We have never had one at a 'Fest before and many folks [myself included] would like to hear one.

Tom,

Yes, the TFM-75 works like a charm, as well as the other amps I am bringing. \:D/ Currently in my system powering my Plat.#4. :D Bought it new when I bought the Plat's. Original owner of both. \:D/ You or any other forum member is welcome to plug it into their system for comparision or any other amp for that matter.

Tom.

Does the Sunfire Tube Pre have the phono option, if so I might need to borrow it as I have not got mine back from Bob yet.

Re: What gear are you bringing?

Brian,

The one Tom has does not have the Phono stage. I will have my C-19 and it's phono stage should work fine with your table IMO. Though I do think Tom has an external phono stage that he can use on the Sunfire.

I do think that the C-19 will work perfect.

Re: What gear are you bringing?

hello all. so, i am disappointed that the sonic frontier sfl-1 preamp has a channel imbalance since i have put it away a few years back. what are the odds of oh, i don't know, having a repair workshop....ok, i may be stretching it there. just do not know what went wrong. one side plays a bit louder than the other. it only uses one tube if my memory serves me correct with out opening the top. any thought's as sonic frontier is not at the forefront as a company and i see that the founder/ceo/president is now doing mod work at the upgrade company i think.

Re: What gear are you bringing?

Chris Johnson runs Parts ConneXion, http://www.partsconnexion.com and still services Sonic Frontier gear.

If that unit runs a single tube, it has to be a dual triode and as such you probably have a bad triode section. Get a new tube before doing anything else.

Re: What gear are you bringing?

Looks like more than one tube. Probably 6 triodes.
