Well, at 5:24PM yesterday we had vinyl at Carverfest for the first time in three years. It would have been sooner but dipshit here forgot to bring the power supply. Yeah, I know........it kinda helps to have power. ](*,)

Shortly after that, BrianT got the 2nd vinyl rig up and going along with Bob's new tube amps and some Energy speakers. Weeez gonna have some fun in that pad today!!! One of the first things Bob asked about when he arrived is whether or not we had vinyl because..........he brought a new, never heard before toy with him this year.

I'll tell you all one thing, it's been two years since my vinyl rig was up and running and I realized last night that vinyl can offer SO much more than other formats. A perfect example is when one of the guys in AC/DC's Back in Black album laughs in the middle of the song, Jerry and I started laughing because even though we had both heard the track thousands of times before.....this time he was in the room [with incredible detail and texture] with the devilish laugh. We asked each other if we had ever laughed at that part before and we both answered, "no". No other format has put on the table [no pun intended] what vinyl offered us last night.

So far this 'fest has been a blast. Soooooo many great sounding rigs. Oh, and a little bit of Carverfest history too. For the first time, we actually have an outdoor rig. Yeah, let me tell you guys something.....that rig has surprised plenty of folks. You wouldn't think [at least we didn't] that with the sweet spot being only 4 feet away that the speakers would disappear and them presenting a sound stage at least 15 feet wide. One of the last things I said before we put it together was....."Well, nobody would want to sit in the sweet spot but it would be nice for background music or something".....as soon as we set the rig up? We didn't leave the sweet spot for almost 3 hours. Damn, that rig has it goin' on.

So far, everybody has made it here safely and today we are expecting another influx of people. Great food, great friends, great music and great surroundings........life is good.

Now back to the festivities......y'all have a good day!
