Re: Anaconda Speaker Cables

that looks alot like rockford fosgate power wire. anyway, i used some 8 gauge rockford wire myself to run my h/t setup. works flawlessly. 4 gauge is over kill for me. 250' i used would really make my wallet light at checkout. 500' total 8g, 250 red and 250 black was about $450. considering the awesome wires within the AL-III's that i own (wow, what an understatement right), the 8g wire seemed to be more than enough....

These look much better made the ones you got from China but as these are different how will the nylon braiding finish up to the end of the cable now (will the lug slide up over the nylon braiding and connect to the soldered connection on the cable side)? Looking at the connectors in the picture it appears that the Lug is screwed on to the soldered connection but the part it screws onto looks to be plastic with the weight you indicated in your original post this may be an issue (heavy cable will cause a lot of strain on the connectors themselves I can see strain relief being a consideration when connecting them up)

Re: Anaconda Speaker Cables

Nope, no problems there... The white nylon is a bushing to keep the outer bodies isolated, so if the 2 bodies touch each other, you are not grounding your amp.
The outer body is really only cosmetic.

Did you ever decide on a price for these, James?

Re: Anaconda Speaker Cables

No... The project got put on hold. The materials cost up front was pretty high.
We have a few other projects that are ahead of the speaker cables right now.

I never really sat down to do the math, but I think I figured about $250 for a stereo set of 8' cables.
