Re: 48 Hour Count Down

Going to be posting pix as I go... I need to document what I am doing anyway, and this breaks the stress a little for me, and it's fast

Building a $2,500 jig right now to hold the extrusions to mill the 132 holds for the woofers.
Check out the clearance between the machine gantry, and the extrusion. Pushing the limits of that this machine can do tonight !!!!

Re: 48 Hour Count Down

Here are a few pictures, the jig is going to work FLAWLESSLY!!!! Notice the clearance between the extrusion and the gantry of the router. ;-)

It's impressive that my father came up with this design at 3:00am and HALF ASLEEP!!! It's ALMOST like he knows what he's doing...

Re: ALS 48 Hour Count Down to Demo

1/2" x 12" aluminum base plate. 1" thick StarBoard (polypropylene) for the vertical clamping ribs.
I made 7 sets of ribs, so the jig will be able to be used for any length of extrusion, from 6" to 8'
I am only using 4 of the ribs right now, as the thing is INSANELY ridged.
I knew this jig would be good, but it's even better than I though.
Hell, I bought $100 worth of nuts bolts and washers to assemble the thing yesterday...

Re: ALS 48 Hour Count Down to Demo

Not like those of course, but along the same concept as opposed to wooden boxes, I have these:

A lot can be said for the wooden (most are particle board) speakers, but this makes for a lighter, more rigid enclosure.
