lol, its just a lot of technical talk about it cutting a hole, cutting another hole, and then cutting 4 more holes. Not much else to explain. ;-)

Fascinating. I'm curious about assembly in the mid-panel region. Speakers are going to be wired together. How does that work with a long panel. Also, are the mounting holes threaded? Otherwise, how are you going to put nuts on them?

My only guess is that the mounting holes are threaded. Regarding speaker wiring, I guess you could start at one end and wire to the adjacent during assembly.

Yes, the mounting holes for the woofers and ribbons are drilled and tapped so that it was easier to work with.

The sub-woofer wiring is going to be tricky, we still have not gotten a wiring diagram for the subs from The Bob-father, but there is enough room behind the ribbons for the wires to be in the same slot. We will post pictures as we go so all of the information is documented. :)

Yes Bill TAPPED... I just finished tapping 332 4mm holes.
It went pretty damn fast actually. A buddy of mine gave me his air tapping gun, and a drill/tap combo bit... That thing is BAD ASS !!!
No more than 2 seconds per hole.

Working on 2 temp bases for testing at the house now. Just going to knock out a couple 16" circles to keep the speakers upright.
Then I'm heading home, to start the wiring. The shop is hot as hell and the house is a perfect 76.

So we'll be finishing them up at home this afternoon. I guess we'll have to wait till Bob gets here to wire up the woofers, no diagram yet on those.

SEE YA !!

I figure you can wire leads to the drivers before you mount them and then feed the leads down to the next one, and so forth. If it's a parallel/series combination, you'll just have to decide which set of lugs to wire the next one to.

Bill, the wiring for the woofers will most likely go from top to bottom. I'm not quite sure where the speakers posts will be but it is quite obvious that the tubed crossover [that still not designed yet] will be external. I do not thing the wiring should be that big of a deal if it is point to point but I have a feeling that's not going to happen. I would imagine that they will go with clip on terminals on the woofers for the first few sets until they can come up with something a little more permanent.

Y'all look up in the sky if you are anywhere between Washington and Florida. Be sure to wave hello as Bob flies on by.
