Re: Bob Carver's new speaker review!

Those speakers look different then what I remember seeing here awhile back. The bases are different and it looks like the body tapers down from bottom to top? Also I thought these were designed to run without a sub, now it mentions what I'm guessing is a Subrosa? How can a 110 db sub even pretend to keep up with a pair of 120 db speakers? Not trying to be too critical just curious is all. Hope everyone is having fun at the fest!!

Re: Bob Carver's new speaker review!

Hi everyone Bob ask me to post this for him!

HI, Bob here. Good questions: The taper that shows in the photo is from the camera angle shot from below. The base is not the final production base, rather only a temporary one. Room gain adds approximately 10 dB below 100 Hz to bring the woofer output up to the ALS output. Above 100 Hz room gain is nil; ALS output decreases as woofer output increases as we go down in frequency below 100 Hz. Not only that, the woofer has a volume control. Hope this helps, Bob Carver.
