ALS 3 vs Martin Logan Sequel

I have a shot to pick up a set of original Logan Sequel's for $550. Anyone compared them to the ALS 3 since they kind of look to be the same design? 10" woofer and 48" ribbon Yes i do know the ribbon are completely different designs.

I have the original amazing ( 2 X 30" ) How would they compare to them? Not just the bass end.. I dont think the 10" can hold up against the 4 12" woofers lol.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I believe they are totally different animals. Sound is unique to both. Make sure you demo the ML to see which you like better.

Times 2

The ML have a unique sound but when I listened to Dreamers at fest08 they disappoined me. Especially next to Gary's als.

You have to listen & decide.

Dreamer has a pair of Sequels; he should be able to tell you all about them. I'm heard them & they sound good; not sure if I'd pick them over amazings or not...

Re: ALS 3 vs Martin Logan Sequel

Thanks for the advice i decided to pass on them. The hard part is they are on ebay 2nd chance offer from a local place here. Once I pull the trigger, I would be afraid if I got them, i would not be able to re-sell them if I don't like them.

When I buy things just to "try out" I try to make sure they are something I can re-sell for what I paied.
