Platinum owners-Questions Please!!!

I as you most know have a Pair of Plat's and got em new in the late 80's - Well some time ago my Plastic Post holder on the rear where I hook them up "BROKE" every since then and for years I have just straight wired them together! I keep the fuse in line of course but now I am wanting them re-placed. I know this was common and have found others like this so here are my Questions.
1) What have you done to fix this?
2) Any idea's of what I could do the fix this?
3) Should I even bother to fix this and just get over it already?

Yes, that's what we used. Just had to drill two ½" holes for the fuse holders. Didn't require any carpentry on the Plats other than some guide holes for the screws for the plate. Fit over the existing hole for the cheapo binding post cup that was in there.
