DONE......

Well as I sit here and listen, they sound good.
the bass has more snap to it, might be the 12ga wire, but more likely its the new subs.
the ribbons have a bit more mellow sound than the al3's
still not sure on the phase of these, ribbons to woofers, I will have to flip the leads on the ribbons to see if the sound gets better or worse.
these things will need a bit of power to make them sing, have a 45 on them now, still have to talk to Rita and see what the test points should read on the 75.....

very nice. a test disc that has a phase test, like the one i have that say's "in phase" and the sound is centered and focused in the middle, then it goes "out of phase" and the sound stage falls with the voice coming from the speakers position. very effective. all else fails, send me your address in a pm and i will mail you a copy of the disc.

for today's project I switched the phase of the ribbons.
It does sound better this way, not a lot, just better, the bass seams a bit more fuller, and the highs zinggyer....is this a word? oh well it is now :-"

with the xover only a 1st order, maybe this is why it did not sound bad, or the ribbons are just more forgiving of being out of phase, not sure.
all this xover stuff is new to me, but its a bunch of fun to play with.

now to stop all the crap in my living room from buzzin and vibrating when I play it loud, I guess there are worse things that could happen..... :lol:
