Question on CRM-2's

I am running a pair of CRM-2's with a Sunfire 300x2 amp fed from the AUX pre-out of a Sunfire Ultimate Receiver
The speaker manual says to set the bass crossover to 100hrz for the CRM's
Unfortunately the Ultimate pre-amp copies the signal from the Mains out to the AUX out.
My Mains are JBL L-100's and I would like to keep the low end frequencies to them.

Question:
If I continue to to send the full frequency range to the CRM's will I damage the speakers?

The system sounds awesome

At low volumes it should be fine but if you plan on turning it up I'd unplug them. At higher levels running them full range it's pretty easy to drive them to distortion, which you might not be able to hear over your other speakers, and prolonged distortion will most certainly damage them.

You might be able to pass the signal through your subwoofer, depending on the model you have, which should give you atleast a 80hz crossover point. Just an idea...

Well, if your mains are set to "large", you get the full spectrum to them (and the aux outputs). You could try some F-MODs on the AUX outputs.

They are on the way

Those f-mods are pretty slick-- I've never heard of them before and very reasonably priced.

Bob (and Sunfire) specifically recommends that you not run the CRM-2s full-range.
