Any speaker compare to Platinum under $12,000?

Look for a pair of old Infinity RS-V's, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Under 12G's tho might be tough. You may also have to reinforce your subflooring too.

Apogee Centaur Majors sound awesome- especially if you have a small clean sub for 40Hz and below in the mix....they can be had for 1000 to 1500 used. Check Audiogon. For that matter almost any of the big Apogee's sound great if your budget is 6K! Most of the large carver amps drive them with ease. The Sunfire does an outstanding job- did for me for @ 20 yrs!

BIG tube amps sound even more wonderful!
