Silver cross overs back from Rolland

Well I finally got my cross overs for my silvers Thursday from Rolland and I didn't know what I was missing....the bass is great and oh heck everything is better and not just a little.... a whole lot. The guy is great, can't wait to get my silver 7ts back and drive the neighbors crazy. For those of you with amazings I highly recommend getting your cross overs refreshed with current parts it makes a big difference.

yes sir, i thought the same thing too with my al3's. now i am looking to see how much the removal of all the crossover will be to my liking with the 60" ribbons. i wonder if the clearwater crossover will do the same for the 48" ribbons as the 60, and if there is some eq'ing going on for both the lowpass and high pass. it does have a high freq trim knob. it works well with the little ribbons and 15" woofers.

Congrats. How long did Rolland have them? I sent my ALIII xovers to him about 6weeks ago and still waiting. He's one busy guy.

does he supply a list of the parts he changes out? (caps, resistors etc.....) does he change any values, or just replace with like value parts?

It was about 6 weeks come to think of it. And I can tell you that after three days of running these new cross overs they just keep getting better, even my wife has noticed a difference and she hasn't noticed anything in 20 plus years. something tells me she wants something. I'm still waiting for my silver 7t's to be finished and I hope they got there befor you cross overs...just kidding ,after I get all my equimpment back I'm headed for the poor house but at least I'll have my music. Enjoy the upgrade you'll love it.

Yes ,I got a list of parts. Plus,Rolland and I talked about some things, room size ,bass output and speaker "Q" ratings and some slight changes were made. He is very good at what he does and his knowledge is fantastic. I think we added another 8 to 10 pounds to each speaker with the new parts but it was worth it. I would love to take pictures of what he did and post them however a lot of work went into these and after I talk to him tomorrow about posting pictures (and if he is OK with this ) I will post them.
I do not want to piss him off or loose a friend and I hope all understand.

Re-vamped question: Now you've had them for a while - what is your impression of the sonic differences?

So far... I've noticed the silvers better in all areas as far as overall sound the major difference is a much better sound stage and when using S.H. It's hard to pull my self away.. One more thing, I sent my silver 7t's to Rolland and have been using a cm1090 to power them and here is where it gets crazy...prior to the new cross overs this amp would just crap out and never reach a sound level for my pleasure. Not any more!.....proof of better power usage too. I wish some of you lived closer so that you could stop by and test drive them.

Yeah I wish he was a few hundred miles north then I could drive over with both sets of crossovers I have for my pair of ALS's

The ones still connected to be upgraded and my originals to put in the ALS museum

Then probably updating the M1.0 and since it is great to just look at and could use the update my old Phase Linear 4000 series two

And figure out how to get him to put my stuff at the top of his to-do list.
