Wow, that seems very strange...

The upper-end detail is one of the most notable improvements on my Silvers over the Klipsch Chorus IIs. I would of never imagined that would be the difference in the two but now, after hearing it, it makes total sense. The Klipsch has a small tweeter and the ribbon is huge, making the high end sound bigger, fuller, blending with the midrange much better. Are you sure there's nothing wrong with your ribbons or crossover?

Here's mine vs. Stereophile's

They're doing what they're supposed to, on paper, at least.
I've got unlimited equalization to work with and when I'd get it to look good on the analyzer,
the sound was physically painful.
Really, I thought I had lost my ability to hear high frequencies or something.
Until I hooked up some tweeters - and wow! Sounded great.
The graph looked good, too.
Like I've said, perhaps the 48" sound different.
Anyone who has a way to cross the 60's to an actual tweeter should at least give it a try.
It might surprise you as much as it surprised me.
Genesis used tweeters with them, you know....

I'd love to see them...
