Carver Amazing

Hello Guys,

Can anyone tell me how long Carver has been making speakers? A friend sent me pictures of his speakers and I replayed saying his Apogee speakers looked nice and he replayed they are Carver Amazing. Are they the same? Did Carver buy out Apogee ? I would really be interested to know the story.

Not sure on the timeline, but here are the speakers Bob has designed:

Re: Carver Amazing

If I remember correctly Bob first designed a set when he was 15....(?)

I have seen earlier models than the amazings but cant recall the name or date.

I do know my Originals were made in '87 and the serial # was 758 so I would assume the Amazings came out in 86 or 87.

Re: Carver Amazing

Most Apogee's were all ribbon. Carver speaker were always ribbon and cone drivers. I don't think Bob had anything to do wth Apogee at all

Most all Apogees were ribbon only- the Centaur, Centaur Minor and Centaur Majors had a cone woofer in them for more impact of low frequencies... :D

I do know he likes them (Apogee's) and designed some of his amps to drive the Scintella's- 1ohm impedance min...
