The impedance for a 30" ribbon is 1.8 ohms, if you run that speaker with any amp, you have a very good chance of damaging it. Even if you put that one completely back together, it will continue to read .4 ohms, the magnetic field does not change the impedance of the speaker, just the thickness of the aluminum trace. The aluminum you are using, just by dividing 1.8 by .4, is 4.5 times thicker than what you need....

The cost to send it to us is $235 (plus shipping) and it will come back to you as new as it had come from the factory.

As far as the where we get out supply, the company that we get the Kapton, the same as the OEM material, only sells in $5000 usd bulk amounts.

Right now I have problem with removing the glue from the microlite membrane.

Then I need to glue all the magnets back together.

Then I will check for the ohm. I will add R to it to bring it up to 4 ohm .

I didn't invent it . I just reverse- engineer .

I have to admit . The Carver ribbon is not only a wonderful speaker but it also is a piece of Art . The ribbon speaker is worthless without the aluminum etch membrane .

(keeping with the general theme of this thread/cluster fuck! At least get the grammar/spelling right ). I agree with F1/Toymaker: the odds of this "project" leading to anything but a cluster fuck/blown amp/waste of time and money are on the low side of between slim and none....

I have 3 x 30 inch ribbon speakers and 1x 60 inch ribbon speaker . They are all broken . That is why I can effort to mess around with it . I might have to send you the 60 inch for rebuid. However, the magnets are out of place . It is a mess.
