Replacement woofers for Carver Amazings

I was wondering if there are replacement woofers for Amazings. The highs and mids are excellent but i've always found the bass a bit weak. The woofers themselves have always looked cheaply made to me especially those cardboard honeycomb fronts on them. Ialso find these speakers extremely sharp. I am runnig Silver 9t's and a C1 preamp. I have Monster M1 on the speakers and Monster M1000i for my interconnect. I wonder what changes I would have to make to smooth them out a bit or is this just the nature of the beast

I found a woofer, WP-1220, at http://www.dynavox.com that has specs awfully close to the original Amazing woofers. They are designed for dipole operation. Can't vouch for them but if/when my Amazing woofers fail, I'm going to try these. BTW, they're dirt cheap.

Are the speakers in our Amazings rated at 4 ohms? I emailed these guys to ask if these would be suitable for the Amazings. Mine have little creases in them I'm not sure if this affects sound quality or not. I live in New Brunswick Canada and its tough to get access to parts or imfo about these things. High end stores have virtually disappeared from this province. People have no idea what these speakers are and there is no one to fix them. again thxs for the imfo. Art

The Amazing IVs use 4 16ohm woofers in parallel, which results in an overall load (Re) of 4 ohms.

Don't know. I emailed them in the past and had no problems. Also, spoke to them on the phone.
