James Sauter

I am perplexed with not being able to contact James. I had a great experience dealing with him years ago. Shortly after he started working on Carver ribbons I sent him a pair for rebuilding from my Carver Silver Edition speakers. He did an outstanding job and communicating with him was timely and pleasant. Now years later I am the happy owner a great pair of Carver Platinum Mark IV Edition speakers. A few months ago I emailed James a simple inquiry via contact on his website. Several emails have gone unanswered and attempts to reach him by phone have been unsuccessful. Yes, I have read all the postings regarding his difficulties obtaining kapton, etc. I do not understand why he is unresponsive. Is he ill or dealing with some other troubling issues? His website is still up and running advertising for people to send him their ribbons for repair. Nowhere on his site is it stated that he cannot provide timely repair service due to lack of supplies. If he is now out of the repair business, or cannot provide repairs without unacceptable delays, then that should clearly be stated on his website. It is simple to set up an automate response to email inquiries. What is going on?
