The "ORIGINAL" Original Loud Speakers VERY RARE

How many of you have seen this photo before??
This was the 1st photo/ad in the magazines for the original ALS. The desing was dropped due to the drivers tearing themselves apart at the corners, and was switched over to the driver we all know today.

Anyone have the original ad in a magazine? I would like a copy/scan if anyone has it???

Unfortunatly no... they need at least a .66 sq ft box per 8-10"... but even so, that would be do-able behind the massive panels the Plats have...
Damn... the house would be DROPPIN'
hehehe 12 Kicker Solo's...

Hmmm....

I used to have (2) kicker 10" L7's and (2) 15" L5's in my car and those are quite extreme was thinking of turning it into a competition car...

Those subwoofers ecspecially the L7's really shine in ported enclosures usually bigger the box the better.

So how come they would be used? Their sensitivity is low and their square shaped cone is meant for pure power output over sound quality???? THis doesnt seem home audio appropiate to me :-k

Oh, is THAT why my original ALS's had round woofers... I did have that picture; it was published in Stereo Review in 1986, and Carver dealers had copies of the review as promotional material. I gave my copy to the guy who bought my ALS's last year.

When one of my woofers blew, I was shocked when the panel was taken apart and my woofers didn't look like the square ones in the article!
