I just thought it was funny that he was advertising it as a replacement for the 60 inch ribbon. Yeah, I want to downgrade my Plats to Originals! Even with 2 30 inch ribbons, you couldn't substitute them without changing the crossover and possibly the woofers. I also wonder if this guy has ever tried to successfully ship one of these.

Set the crossover at 100hz and you'll most likely cook the ribon. They aren't designed to go below 150hz.

Maxx,

The Silver 7t/9t monoblocks actually can run for a very short time into a short circuit with no damage to the amp...

If the "short" is a real short (like faulty speaker wire), the protection circuits will kick in and the fuse will blow.

I know this because I've done it with one of the S7t's I owned the first time around (re: the "Arc-Welding with Carver amps and Monster Cables" story.)

The cable's terminating spades that were touching were literally welded together, all the way down to the copper cores, but the amp was OK--just needed a new fuse.

-760 mayhap will pound all its "capped" up to be.
sadly the mackie 1400FRs i run the amazings with arnt better than 2 dixie cups with string(still push over 2000 wpc~2R bridged per :-k )quote "..will run all night into a 2ohm load"(from mackie manual).
there are amplifiers that can run a direct short and still function. Dreamer had it happen with his blocks, and i have experienced the same phenom. via my mackies(add one of the wifes friends+drinks!).
when $ permits ill have to check MR DaveS for 30" availability!
