Re: FINALLY!!!!
Dang, I agreed to sell him the AL-III's figuring Jon would bring that sweetie along for the ride. Talk about disappointment. Probably for the best though, Janet would have cut my tounge off when it hit the floor if she walked through the door. Jon, I Really enjoyed meeting you and Jesse. Hope you get much pleasure out of the speakers. Start saving for a set of Plats. Think of the HT set-up that would make. Plats in front, AL-III's for rear speaks, all powered by 9t's or 7t's or a Sunfire 5x400 of course. (How am I doing Rabbit?). Glad to see you had a safe trip home.
edit: Forgot to mention. Janet got a good chuckle after Oldschooler left and was walking to the car and we heard through the door "Yeeehaaa, I got my speakers." She told me "you Carver people really are nuts."
I couldn't argue that fact.

Oldschooler: who is that in the pic and where did you get it? (avatar)
That sounds about right; it's pretty exciting the first time you get something like that! I remember the day I drove all night after work on a Friday in Feb 07 from MD to IL to pick up my AL-IIIs I'd got off ebay. I arrived too early & slept in my truck for about an hour until the guy was up (8 am). It was colder'n a witches tit; The guy had the speakers in his garage & he fired up one of those little turbine-looking heaters while I wrapped them lovingly in foam, then bubble wrap, then all that in a giant roll of cellophane, then wrapped moving blankets around them, tied them down in the back of my pickup, and taped a plastic tarp over the whole thing. I drove 600 miles back through a snowstorm that day & got home just around dark. What an exhausting trip~ 1200 miles with an hour nap in the middle!
...it was worth it, though....

Re: FINALLY!!!!
Congrat's Jon on the purchase of Skip's speaker's! They are in really good condition and are sonically in perfect condition as well. Glad to hear that you liked the Plat's. Let me guess, Skip hooked them straight up to the 9t's right out of the 490t?
Yeah, that's some sweet and juicy like these nutz. sounds right there. I don't care who ya' are.

In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.
Re: FINALLY!!!!
