I have a True Subwoofer Mk. II and I fixed my hum by tightening the center bolt on the gain pot. It had been in a local shop for about a month when the guy gave up on it. So I brought it home and did that, and it hasn't hummed since.
It should sound like it isn't there!
There is a difference between hearing and listening...

No audio connected. Hums when power is applied. Got it from a customer , I said your subwoofer hums all the time . If your just going to throw it away let me take it.

Yeah, mine would hum with no input connected. Seems the body of the pot needs to be well grounded or it picks up hum. It is grounded by it's contact to the plate amp chassis.
It should sound like it isn't there!

Who named this thing? Silent Knight. I wish it would be silent.Dont speak unless spoken to! Connections arent making a difference.
