Wow, those look really impressive. Are those the same JL subs used in the Fathom/Gotham series? If so, these speakers won't be hurting for bass at all...

How about the fniish? Piano black, like the Amazings?

I think those are two models down from the Fathom/Gotham; they use an exclusive driver they don't sell separately.

The Fathom and Gotham both use the 13.5" version of the W7 driver, mine are the 12", but yes, they are the same W7 line.
I wanted the keep the enclosure as small as possible, so I went with the 12" driver, plus it does not roll off as fast as the 13.5" does.

The paint will probably be colse the the AL-V's I built. The sub will be high gloss black, and panels will be dark metalic gray, and the grills will be black.

WOW those really look stunning! I wish I had the wood worknig skills to attempt a project like that...Guess I'll just have to
"make due" with my Amazing Silver's till then...

BTW, it seems like you and Bob are pretty close. Is he working with you on these designs? If not, has he seen/heard them?

Yeah, we're pretty close. Last year at Carverfest Bob spent about 5 hours "tuning" my AL-V's, and seemed pretty impressed with the outcome.

He's not involved with any of the AL-designs I am playing around with, but he and I are working on another set of speakers together right now.
They are nothing like what you see here. It will be a few more months before they are ready to show.

My fahter and I are also working with him on the "1st Production Run" of a prototype tube preamp Bob designed back on the 90's when he was still with Carver.
Lots of cool things going one to keep me out of trouble.
