Won't hurt the speakers if you don't clip the amps. They just won't sound up to their full potential until you've got a lot of gas behind them that can go into the low Z range without giving up (running out of current).

I don't think it would damage the speakers by underdriving them. The dual 30 inch ribbons are the Original configuration. I believe the upgrade involved a change to single 60 inch ribbons, different woofers(not the flat honeycomb ones) and a modified crossover. The Signature would be great with all that muscle driving them. One sweet setup that's for sure. I love it. =D> =D> =D>

Pulled the tape off the posts on those plats. I just had to include a shot of what I found. Never seen anything like this before. If you are a little unsure as to what you're looking at I'll include a couple of details. The white looking stuff is silicone. The wire was terminated with a cut in half copper plumbing clamp. It was srewed on with a large nut to something I haven't made out yet. On the other terminal, well your guess is as good as mine. I thought I'd seen it all

Art I would say you better open up those speakers and see if there is any other thing that was done to them!

Art, That wiring looks suspect to say the least. It would make me wonder if there are any other surprises. I hope it's alright.

Somebody that would do that to an ALS should be locked in a room for life with only a Bose wave radio to listen to.

He could have said an iPod with original ear-buds loaded with MP3s all ripped at 128 kbps.
