Weird resistance measurement

Hello fellow Carverites...

Just finished upgrading my Original ALS' to Plats with rebuilt ribbons, replacement woofers from Dynavox (before the price increase!) and a pair of Plat crossovers. Since I didn't have the Biamp terminal cups, I just attached the woofer and ribbon wires from the crossover input together and soldered them to the respective input terminals. My issue is this - when I attach a multimeter across the input terminals to the speakers, I am only reading about 4 ohms. This don't seem right

Can anyone with a set of plats check the input resistance please?

The Plats & the Originals w/ Plat conversion don't have the exact same impedance, if I remember correctly. I think weitrhino has a pair of converted Plats; perhaps he can measure for you...

Thanks for the quick reply Rabbit... This isn't really a Plat upgrade... I am using an original plat crossover, as well as the original (well, replacement) Plat woofers. Should be the same as a stock pair of Plats. Would still be interested in resistance measurements of the Carver Upgrade Plats as well as the stock Plats.

The DCR across your binding posts is not the speaker's true impedance.

That is true, I would need an LCR bridge to effectively measure that. However, I'm just looking to get a comparison reading from an already functional set of plats.
