I've been trying to get in contact with this guy (left 3 emails so far). So far no luck!

Re: carver al-3plus

Actually, I checked and I got the AL-IIIs for $650 (Craigslist). Had to drive to Tucson (about 250 mi R/T) to get them. If those plusses are any good (if I ever get in touch with that guy), it'll be a hell of a deal.

Re: carver al-3plus

$300 for the 42 is a good price but $1k is high for the ALIII's IMO.

When I got mine the deal was $600 for the ALIII's, a TFM55 (not working), a TX-10 and a DVD player. I should be getting the TFM off to Rita this week.

Re: carver al-3plus

I hauled mine in the back of an SUV Lots of blankets for padding. I can't remember the orientation, but I think they were on their sides facing one another.

I hauled mine 650 miles thru a snowstorm in the back of a pickup, same orientation as Bill. I wrapped them in foam on the edges, then bubble wrap, then the giant 24" wide industrial strength cling wrap (Home Depot), then put moving blankets under & on top of them & strapped 'em down with ratcheting ties.

I agree the $1000 is a little on the high side. I paid $850 a little over 2 years ago for a MINT pair that only had about 100 hours use....

WTF,, I Dont feel to bad spending 800.00 , drove 20 minute away , original owners...Put them in the back of my pick up ( on side ) on a sleeping bag , wrapped them , drove 20 more minutes home and played them that night...As far as price , what condition are they , how many owners had em , and how far do you want to drive...IMO..I would have paid 1000.00..

Re: carver al-3plus

I agree with Steve. They'll certainly top any $1,000 speaker available today (if they're in good condition, speaker-wise). ALSs, in general, will probably top most $10,000 speakers.
