I stole my mint black AL-IIIs a couple months ago for $250....
It was a 500 mile drive, but I got a ride from a friend that was making the trip for his company anyway.

I agree with Steve. They'll certainly top any $1,000 speaker available today (if they're in good condition, speaker-wise). ALSs, in general, will probably top most $10,000 speakers.

Do you mean the AL-III,s ...or the ALS,s...I was referring to the AL-III,s.....My better half said she liked the sound of the AL-III,s better then the ALS,s......Then she admitted that the AL-III,s looked better , that the ALS,s looked like car doors.... .....I have had MB quart,s ...Paradigm studio ref,s....Listened to M & k...Martin Logan's.....Ect....Haven't had the chance to hear the Polk SDA,s....Which I want to real bad..( the older ones )...But for me , the AL-III,s...even if I had to spend 1000.00 , sounded much better....So if you have a chance to pick up a GOOD pair, I would go for it......You can always sell them.....But I dont think you will...When I got the ALS,s for 1000.00.....Im still surprised they still go for that amount....Im still in awe of the sound....I may be a bit biased .

You'd need to CAREFULLY lie them down (their heavy) on their side (or face if you put them on a couple of pillows or a couch/bed/ etc.) & remove the bottom panel with a LARGE phillips screwdriver (4 screws. You can use a drill-driver, but I'd be VERY careful & make sure you use a huge phillips bit.

Make sure when you put them back that you get the back 2 spacers in the recessed they set down into (tilts the speaker back slightly)

got the al3's and amp. they sound very good to me even though the room i put them in is way to small

yes, i've gotton alot of carver stuff,but last nite wife said NO MORE

My problem is that I have no one to tell me no more Carver equipment. I just keep buying and buying. I know I have OCCD bad!
