Re: Carverfest Tube Amp upgrades Please post ideas.

going to set up and start building my 2nd amp this weekend,
the real problem is the only speakers that I have that this amp will drive are my infinity 150's, not the best sounding things. but they do get loud.
I'll try my amazings on them just for fun, but I think these will eat this amp alive....

Got these as they match the ones on the pre amp I am going to use with these. They are quite nice, but of course I will need bottom covers.

Carverfest Tube Amp upgrades Please post ideas:

Those extra holes could be enlarged and would be great for XLR inputs.

when asked, bob said he like's the way coax sounds. the xlr was overkill on his sunfire, but the high community demanded it. i could be wrong as my memory is not a dictaphone, but was the jist of it. xlr comes real handy when you have long, imean long runs of wire. there are a few boxes out on the market though that do exactly that though. coverters i think they were.

You are correct but the one thing you have to keep in mind is that if the circuits within the component(s) are not balanced [as in this tube amp] and you use an XLR, you are not making any difference whatsoever. At that point, you are basically using the XLR cable as an RCA with absolutely no added benefits.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.
