YOUR CF Tube Amp Build Progress

Hey guys, I figured I would post progress photos of my builds on the amps that I have been commissioned to build.

Dad decided to pass on his mono block amps and we offered them to Wayne so that Bob wasn't stuck with two custom chassis.

I will be back on with more photos as I get further along on this amp, and then the next...

Here are a few progress photos of the first mono block, my amp is off the the right for reference:

yeah, i spent a few hours sorting out the parts, short a couple, over a few. got amp 2 started. i have a plan. a module plan. prodution type assembly so all will be identical in the end. amps 3,4,5,6 and 7 will be next for the first set of parts. i will pobably leave the first one as is.

Seems like the first one never turns out quite right.

So, yours are mirror imaged pairs instead of identical chassis, huh? Looks good!

Yes sir! I didn't like the look of the double L layout... At first I wanted to place my serial number plate in between the tubes, but it was just a little too big... My father waited until the VERY last minute to change his chassis too, he liked my layout better than the original. The only MAJOR problem I had with mirroring the channel was that the feedback loop leads had to be reversed on side that was mirrored, I didn't make that mistake on Wayne's!

Looks very nice Alex, fit for a "King".

I was talking to Bob about doing it like this, but he agreed that it would become too difficult to get all of the wiring in after the components are in... If you get further along on this, please PM me some photos, I would really enjoy looking at them!

Update!!!

All wiring is done and 30% of the components are done, I expect to have this thing running tonight!!

I got the first amp all wired up, it comes on, with an iPod plugged in with an RAC to Headphone jack it plays music!!!
One problem.... When I take the RCA's off I get something that sounds like the THX surround sound track..... I have no idea what is causing this, YET... I am taking a break, maybe then I can figure it out.

It is about time The King moves into the world of surround sound.

All kidding aside, Alex, I have confidence you will figure this one out. The wiring looks exceptional, by the way.
