Wow been lusting after a pair of Dunlavy speakers for years. It's on my bucket list some day. For now running Martin Logan Monolith ll. Wish I got to have a listen to 2011 tube amp all you guys got to build and now you guys are up for a new build. So cool.

Gotta love the silky smooth sound that tubes project. No not lucky enough to have any bob father's tube amps but do have some 1962 tube amps that get me by. :D

It's been a while since I listened to mine but I love it! I might take it to SoundSmith for some parts upgrades. I use Siemens EL84L and GE 5751 tubes in mine.
I recently was lucky enough to obtain a 2011 CarverFest tube amp. I'm driving a set of JBL L88s (8 ohm 35 wpc) with it.
It came with Tube Amp Doctor (German) EL84s and 6H2n (Russian?) tubes and an extra set of EL84s...Cryo Mullards. I am
very impressed with the improved/enlarged soundstage, improved detail and excellent bass the amp produces. I know
everyone is anticipating the 2018 CarverFest amp build, but these little 20 watt tube amps are great. So far I have just
listened to the TAD EL84s...waiting until I get acclimated to them before trying the Mullards.

@Snoop65:
The GE 5751 imput tubes you mention....I can't find a list anywhere that states they are an equivalent for 6AX7s... ](*,)
Are they equivanlent? Secondly what circa (year) are your GEs?

Anyone added a tube guard/roll bar to their amp so it looks more like a Black Magic VAT20?

I read in another thread that there was talk of metal bottom panels being planned for fabrication...did that ever happen
and, if so, how would I go about obtaining one?

Also, does anyone have a schematic for the 2011 tube amp they could send me?

Thanks...

My CF amp was configured to run 12AX7 tubes not 6AX7's. 5751's are a military version of the 12AX7 with a little less gain

Oh and I forgot, my GE tubes are from the 50's

EXCELLENT workmanship.... =D>
Thanks for the photo

I'm thinking of adding a single satin finished aluminum tube roll bar to mine.
It's going to be tedious to drill the holes for the attachment screws
with all the wiring for the tube receptacle underneath.
