30 Days and Counting

Post by hewlew1 » Tue Aug 07, 2012 5:53 am

Thats right 30 days till the best time I am going to have all fucking year. I need to get away and unwind. 5 years ago I was retired and now I am back to working 5 days a week at 2 different jobs. What the fuck is wrong with this picture. Oh and by the way lets get the countdown clock started!

Ha...ha...ha....I was dropping by to say the same 30 day thing Harry!! Yes...the best 10 days of the year is my intention! It's been forever since I was able to plan in advance to just kick back and enjoy doing nothing much.

Wonder what the deal is going to be with food? Some years ago we were full of plans and talk about the meals. Now...not a word!

Last year it was supposed to be a joint breakfast for whoever wanted. I tried to jump in and help and the first morning I was there a few showed. Then the next morning less... and by the third morning, almost no one. Don't know if people didn't know, didn't care or we were that bad of cooks! ](*,)

Sure lookin' forward to having more time with everyone this year!!

Mark

Food has not been discussed at all this year. No one has stepped up to take charge at all.
It seems to me, that this year everyone is gong to have to fend for themselves.

Stores are close by, and prices are reasonable.

If anyone wants to start committing to cooking meals, I have started a CF 2012 MEALS thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=158&t=16640
Funding will have to be discussed in that thread as well.

I'd almost suggest this year, if someone is going to cook a mean for the group, have a "Plate Charge"
$5-10 per meal you are going to eat around the mountain would be very reasonable.

yup, lots of pastrami (even better sub rolls this time than last), turkey breast, lots of chicken for kabobs and chicken and rice. then if we go to the store, lemon chicken and potatoes, ribeye steak for those that are there early (i whole ribeye does not go far). maybe some pork chops, i will bring some deep dish pizzas that will be cooked there in the first day or two. spaghetti and meatsauce. hell, i may cook a lasagna and bring it, 36 orders. the mind boogles just thinking about the food i can bring. some chocolate and banana pudding...burgers...greek salad....spanakopita,teropita.....dolmathes......and on and on i can go.
