Great minds think alike....or in our case "tube-aholic" minds.

Snoop looks like right now we are running very similar setups. I have a set of Holland Amperex 7308 D-Getter in V2 and V3. And switch between a Amperex Holland made Valvo 188CC and Siemens CCa in V1. In the phono stage Ive benn running either JHS Sylvania 5751 triple mica black plates or very early Mullard ECC83 MC1.

Interesting note: at CF14 we had this similar setup running in Dougs cabin with the Cherry 260s and turntable the night before the shrimp etufe' get together. There were 4 or 5 of us......Doug,Martin,Mike,me and my son and the combo was just sounding terrific.

The next night with the get together there were 15-20 people at times in the room and it sounded like you had sawed the tweeters and mid range off the top of my speakers. It was bad enough I asked Rabbit if something sounded off he noticed it as well commenting that something may be wrong with my phono cart. Im guessing the extra clothing/people was dampening the topend or something. I guess room acoustics really does have alot to do with it.

I think it was all the extra people. You'll be surprised what objects in a room can affect your sound.

Eric sent me some tubes to roll in mine, and I've just not had a chance to "play" yet. :( The last time I had a chance to do some tube rolling in the Sunfire Tube Pre was at CF 2014!!! Sometimes I think I need to stop and smell the roses! I'm looking at a TT upgrade to a VPI Scout and may need to do some tube rolling in the MC section if I get it. We'll see.
Sunfire: Theater Grand IV, Cinema Grand Signature.

The VPI Scout is a excellent table Doug, you can't go wrong with that one. Finding a cartridge that suits you is the adventure!

Wayne

Shipping from Canada to the USA is very easy, and at the moment you save 27% on the dollar.
So Doug should be able to get it landed for around $1500.00 usd a GREAT deal.
Less if he makes a deal with the seller.
