Meter Illumination

Post by vigotone » Mon Feb 11, 2013 12:52 pm

Hello All,

I've been enjoying my Sunfire Cinema Grand Series II amp immensely (thanks again, Brian!). Quick question, as I have no basis for comparison... The light in the meter window has an even glow throughout except for one bright strip of light down the middle. Is that as it should be, or do I have a bulb out? Sorry for the silly question, I'm just not sure if the illumination is supposed to be more of an even glow, or if this is normal. Also, any idea what the white stuff that seems to have collected along the top of the window could be?

Thanks!

It looks correct. Don't have a clue about the residue.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!

There's one bulb right in the middle, so that's why you see a hot spot there.

I can't see from that pics, but I have no type of white residue in mine....

I'm real glad to see that the Sunfire 425x5 is still working well.

As for the light bulb, as rabbit has said, there is only one bulb in the centre top
just out of the window area. The light and the needle look just fine.
As for the white stuff, I have no idea, you could take the cover off and clean it off.

I just took another look; it looks like the glass plate that covers the meter slid down.

Thanks, guys! The glass has definitely not shifted down. It almost looks like frost (but of course it isn't!). Yes, I could remove the cover and clean it, but I'm afraid to! Anyway, it doesn't bother me that much. I hadn't noticed before today.

Hello all. Sorry I've been away for so long. The light on my joule meter has just gone out. I'm not terribly handy and have no idea how to solder. Any idea how I can get it fixed locally in Los Angeles?

Thanks in advance!

Lee
