I need a room with bath and I'm a quiet tennant.

George I will be happy with the upstairs bedroom if you are looking for some $ for the last 5 days.

New/old ideas for fun --

viewtopic.php?f=151&t=14221

That was cancelled by Tom when I last came, but I hauled it all up the mountain (and then back down ](*,) ).

viewtopic.php?f=151&t=14041

I just live down the mountain.
No one can say I was a problem in 2011.

If given free reign for #5, I could make that the open door meeting place.

I can't justify setting up a central party place again unless I have total control of this cabin. I lost a lot of $$ last time when Tom took it over after I paid for it and hauled in junk.

Fun is fun and people who don't like cold beer and loud music don't have to visit - 8-[ it could be just another option.

As before, like in 2011, EVERY morning there will be be a solid breakfast for anyone who will join in and help. (I need my grits and eggs everyday).

I've spent a lot of time working in the garage on a project the last several days, while burning as much vacation time as I can before losing it at year end. It's given me a lot of time to think about how much fun ol' Harry and I had at CF2012.

Many of you know we ate good(!!!) and Harry brought a whole truck load of equipment. What you may not know is how much music he brought. What a gas we had about every night just setting up and listening to all kinds of stuff he'd bring out. Some old and familiar, some artists that I knew of but wasn't so familar with. What a time we had! We'd swap from this set of speakers to another just because we could and throw on another CD!

Soooooo looking forward to doing it all again! It can't come soon enough!! Kickin back and listening and setting around visiting. Some new folks and some old. But enough about Frankie.... Hope the coming months treat everybody well and we can all get there and enjoy again!!

Gettin' hungry now thinking about one of Angelo's amazing sambitches!

Have a great year and see you soon! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.....!!!!!!

Mark
I was there "At the Fest!" Hope you were too!

Ok. Newbie question here.
Can someone shed some light as to why Carverfest is in Bryson City?
I'm not complaining by any means. I live in Asheville and will try and make it this year. Be fantastic to see and meet the man behind my carver.

I believe the main reason is/are the Watershed cabins.

They provide a nearly perfect venue. The owner allows us to do pretty much anything we want as long as all is returned to the same condition we found it in.

If you live in Ashville it is an easy day trip for you...so COME ON DOWN !!

So is there a main venue/building where products etc are set up for drooling ......or is it a separate party at each of the cabins?
Now that I think about it the later was a silly question. Of course there will be.

Separate party at each cabin with hopefully one or two group events along the way.

The gatherings seem to move daily, nightly and sometimes hourly from cabin to cabin. It also sometimes depends on were Bob Carver is to were everyone shows up.
Some cool Carver stuff!

Tom Reitz (the original organizer) had been to the Watershed cabins for his honeymoon.
He convinced everyone to meet there. Pretty central N-S wise.
Plus, no one has ever come up with a better venue, anywhere in the country yet.
Prices are more than fair (haven't changed in 6 years)
We are pretty much given run of the mountain, and they cater to most of our needs.

Wish I only lived 30 minutes from the cabins... 12 hour drive for me.

Hope to see you there this year, I'll be in 12

please come. i was pondering it all today and it is kind of like band camp, even though i never went, well camp anyway. once a year for two weeks, i get to be a part of this carver fraternity of guys and gals. all year long it's work, home, work ,home. then.........a community of great folks get together up in the mountians for a spell and just simply take in the new friends, food, music and beauty of the area. it is a true get away. at this point, it is my second home for half a month a year. when i first saw this, i said to myself, "well i wish i was on their level(devotion to audio that is, ten days...wow), only to go on the forth one (carverfest 2010) to find out i have a family of people there that i hold dear to my heart today. it is hard to describe the comradely folks that i found. and then, to top it off, bob hangs out too. he is one entertaining guy. he's simply great.
