Yeah,, I'm with you Wayne-- chill time-- I've thought about it since starting this thread,,and I've come to the realization, that building these things require alot of time, pre build, and money not to mention shipping etc.

That sounds like a good idea to me, something that will only take half a day to a day max.

That's how the amp build started Brian. It only took Tom Zucher 1/2 a day and most all other novices are still trying to get their amp put together where it will work. I don't know how many of the Carverfest amps are working today but I would say mine are an exception to the rule. If we do speakers I think a pre built cabinet with a crossover with minimal components to soldier to it with a ribbon and woofer. Finish optional later.I could probably deal with that. Anything else and Alex is the man!!!!!

Wayne.

My little CF amp works perfect and I built it, I pull it out once a month and use it for a day, and then back into storage. (it did take me 2 days to make it)

As for doing speakers, with the box pre built, it should not take very long to solder the crossover together and mount the drivers and as you say
finish at your leisure later.

Re: What are we gonna build 2013

In 2011 I had a working set of CF Monoblocks which I listened to for several days before we left. Built the other 2 at home after that and I am Happy to report all are in tip top condition. They even have the Tubular Joe upgrade done to them all.

Re: What are we gonna build 2013

If by some miracle I am able to make it down this year, I damn sure won't be getting involved in another build. While it was fun at times & a great learning experience, I woulldn't want to waste that kind of time again. I was there 4 days & didn't even get to see all the setups or visit all the different folks.

Re: What are we gonna build 2013

Angelo bought 7 and I know one of them is funtional dont know the condition of the other 6. George has 2 one of them he brought to last years fest and I did the upgrade for him on it . The second one is being shipped back to him from Alex. Mike Built 1 at the fest but I believe he bought 2. All in all I thought 68 kits were purchased .
