What did you miss that you regret the most?

Post by Robert R » Sun Oct 04, 2015 8:09 pm

The Fest always ends too soon, and one spends the next 49 weeks regretting things missed. I could list a bunch of things that went undone, but looking back at this point the standout is that I wanted to hear Hewlew1's CF speakers placed atop a pair of his Carver Corp. subs, on his custom-built stands. But this was not possible because he didn't have time to get the speakers built before the Fest broke up. I did hear some other little speakers on those stands (were they RS minis?), and those subs are excellent sounding - two of them move some major amounts of air. Hope to hear next year how well they integrate with the little Teslas.

So what did others regret missing? If you missed Bob's flying demo at Cabin 3...well, pity be upon you.

RobertR

[Those Carver subs have a crossover that can be set as high as 150 Hz, IIRC. Should be ideal for this use, and Harry has a lot of them for sale, quite reasonably priced, so I'm told.]

Not having room in the car to take Harry's Paradigm speakers home with me. Unlike a certain pair of CarverFest speakers he didn't manage to nuke them....no matter how hard he tried.

Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

Harry, I will post several recipes when I get a spare minute. Carrot Cake is one I will make public.

Very few regrets this year -
Missed MRHP's open baffles, which I really wanted to hear.
And every year I wish I had got to know more of the regular Carverfest people who I haven't spent much time with. This year was so full of activity and great folks new and old.
CF#5 for me - and the best yet.

Haven't decided on cabin arrangements yet.
Might have something cool going on next year that'll require having a separate cabin.

Maybe an experiment to see how many pairs of Carverfest speakers you can have playing in one room? ;)
