Sunfire Theater Grand mk iv $750

Post by jjptkd » Sun Dec 12, 2010 3:58 pm

Does this look like a good deal? I'm thinking about moving up from my older Denon, thanks.

It sounds like a great deal to me.

I bought a TG III 3years ago for $1300.00. I couldn't believe the difference it made over my Harmon Kardon HT pre.

Later I bought a C-19 tube pre (tube craze had me) but when i a/b'd them the TG III sounded as good or better than the tubes. I sold the C-19 to Brian.

This is a great Pre and I think under rated, especially for 2 channel where it really shines.

My advice is grab it & look for a Sunfire amp to go with it. You will not regret it.

My .02

P.S. Plus it has an excellent phono section in case Vinyl grabs you.

I couldn't help myself #-o Thank you guys for the encouragement!!! That's the last thing I'm buying, I swear!! :^o Anyhow, I'm very excited to receive it and run the balanced inputs to the 400x5. It should be a huge improvement over my old Denon 2805!!! I can't remember the last time I've been so excited over a purchase!! :D :D :D

I didn't know you already had a Sunfire 400 x 5. You will be very pleased. I drive my Silvers with that set up (except TG III) and it works great.

Congrats !!!!

Thank you sir, and congrats to you on your new light star!! Those are beautiful looking amps! I'm still trying to let the Sunfire settle in as it's by far the best sounding amp I've ever owned. I'm hoping that with the new preamp I should be able to leave my main system alone for atleast a little while. :D :D

No, I lost about $80. I paid $750 plus $40 shipping and then he added paypal fees for a total of $815. Then, when you paid me, paypal charged me $25 in fees out of the $800, leaving $775. Then I paid for shipping, another $40, so if you add it all up, I lost $80 on the whole deal. I'm sorry to hear your not too happy with it. I absolutely loved the sound quality, just couldn't justify the cost for it's role in my system. I ended up finding an ultimate receiver for the same price that gives me most of the features, same sound quality plus a 200x7 built in amplifier. I think I'm going to keep this setup awhile longer. Anyway, I'm glad you got the preamp in good condition and good luck figuring it out, thanks again.

Do you think I'm lying to you? I explained all of this in private emails and now you come up with this? You want me to send you copies of the paypal transactions and the fedex receipt? It was Christmas time and in the spirit of things I offered to basically pay $80 out of my own pocket to hook you up with the deal you wanted and this is how I get thanked? I'd be more then happy to give you a full refund, just box it up the same way I shipped it to you, with everything included and ship it back fully insured. As soon as I receive it, I'll give you your money back. Thanks again.
