Vacuum Tubes

Post by Magic_Physicist » Thu May 28, 2015 7:16 pm

While doing several projects at once today in the hot sun here at home I was reminded I have about 100 different tubes from the past in my collection when I found this box.

RCA 6K8 all NOS in original box (like all the rest)

Here is a description of these http://www.r-type.org/exhib/aaa0058.htm

Maybe when I get some free time I will bother you with the others I have here.

Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

I just found a couple more boxes full of tubes so here is the first ones I grab from the box

NOS RCA 7V7 vacuum tubes

I can tell these tubes have never been touched and even the boxes look new after all these years.

Well I thought I had some of the 12AX7 version here but I just went through them and don't see any unless they are in another part of the stash I haven't found yet.

Ok here are the next tubes in the stash.....

NOS GE Vacuum Tube 6146B / 8298A

Those seem to be expensive when I looked them up.

Last month I went back to looking through my vacuum tube collection and found some that somebody here may have used.

Anyone try the RCA 7027A black base power tubes?

I have at least 15 all in the original boxes and never been touched (except the ones I checked) all perfect......even the boxes.

Purty. Don't know if anybody around here is running a 6L6 type rig or not. A nice beam power tube. I'd trust those RCA's over the more common current JJ's.
