Feckin TTB

I was getting ready to ship some wine to Tom, but apparently it is a felony to ship wine from California to North Carolina. It is also illegal to ship to New York, Maryland, Virginia and some other states.... SOOOOO, I need a place to ship a 3 liter bottle of wine to, that is legal. Bob is going to sign this bottle and auction it off, but if it can't get there it won't happen.

Anybody going top Carverfest that I can ship the wine to? I was also going to ship a case of mixed wine, including a 750 of the auction wine. The wine needs to go to an adress that can have someone sign for it that is over 21.

A little help here, please.

Looks like ONLY licensed people can ship wine from ANY state...
Get hold of the place you bought it, and see if they can ship it out.
If he's licensed, he CAN ship to me in FL

Also, FrankieD is close [I guess] to you. Could he bring [ship] them on the plane with him?

I will be shipping the wine from a friend's winery. UPS and Fed ex will only accept wine shipments from a bonded winery out here. Otherwise they either confiscate it or refuse to take it. I have had them open the packages to look, the packaging is pretty obvious, but I thought I would lie......didn't work. Some states differentiate between UPS and Fedex, they consider UPS a ground carrier(illegal) and Fedex an air carrier(legal).

If someone has a friend that has/works in a liquor store I think that would work. N.C. requires a brand registration fee along with a chemical analysis but I think we can skirt that......

Actually I was blaming the feckin TTB for this but it is actually a State's Right issue. Every state is different. Some states you can only ship to certain zip codes! Dry counties, ya know.....
