What are my chances

Post by bsturgeon89 » Wed Feb 24, 2010 10:06 pm

I emailed the guy that I got the Sunfire subwoofer from and of course he is not going to helpful about refunding or working something out.

Ebay just started doing their protection plan thing in Nov 09.

So I went ahead and filed a claim stating the item wasn't as described. I'm hopeful but also doubtful. I would think that NIB would mean that the item wouldn't stop working after about a hour.

Has anyone had experience with Ebay's new protection plan?

I guess this means it wasn't an easy fix, huh?

Sorry to hear about that Brock, don't you hate it when shit happens like that. Maybe e-bay will cover it if you used PayPal. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

Yeah, worked like a dream for me.

I've worked out several refunds on non shipped purchases and partial and I get tp keep the equipment on numerous occasions. It usually takes about 2 weeks from the time you file the claim if they don't ship. Paypal is a good thing for the buyer, but now leaves the seller out to dry IMHO.
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!

What do you mean by that Kingman? You talking about PayPal fees?

I guess I got lucky last year with my True sub and the seller. I told them what it would cost to repair and said either I would ship it back or they can refund me the repair cost. They refunded my money very quickly.

Some sellers are very good. Some are bad. I guess I have been very lucky.

How much to repair and what was the problem?

Well I should hear something back within 48 hours.

I don't know what their interpretation is going to be when it comes NIB.

Something like this.....

It worked when you received it albeit just for a hour but it did work so it is now your responsibility to fix it. So classifying the item as "not as described" doesn't pertain.

We shall see.....
