Pass it On is now officially over

Post by Jag_97470 » Fri Oct 08, 2010 4:38 pm

Pass it On with the book "Get Better Sound" by Jim Smith has completed its journey and has returned home.

I would like to thank all who participated and followed the guidelines that made this “work” for everyone. Without the cooperation from the forum readers involved this would not have been a success. The book started out March 1st 2009! And returned home yesterday Oct. 7, 2010! Just over 1 Year and 7 months!! Wow! What a journey this book could tell. A few highlights from the members listed below after the read. Some did not post comments, but all did direct PM myself expressing a great read.

TNRabbit : Thanks a lot, Jerry; I learned a TON from that book!

For example, speaker & listening position placement are the most critical items in getting good sound from your system. The author also gave several very good tips for overcoming shortcomings in your listening room (cathedral ceilings are BAD). One of the most interesting conversations was about ensuring your system is in "acoustic phase" (you'll have to read it). He gave many extreme tweak tips but never failed to include how you could improve conditions in a normal room where you have to "live" as well as listen (for those without a separate listening room).

Eddie: Thanks alot Jerry! Eddie!

BillD: K, I finished the book. Interesting read of all the stuff we've been arguing about for many years, and some stuff you might not have thought about.

RainWomen/Rainman: No comment posted on forum, racing season consuming their life.

Kahuna: I am finished with the book. (Excellent read by the way)

SteveFord: No comments posted on forum.

Gdb: It's really good to read when you're on the toilet, like I did!
JK, nothing but handling with TLC

Bsturgenon89: I'm done with the book.

Nooshinjohn: No comments posted on the forum.

Dok: No comments posted on forum.

FrankieD:
I'm finished with the book, some useful info & some beyond what I'm interested in doing.

Peck555:
It was very interesting (From PM)

Pass it On is now officially over. This was fun for me and I’m glad everyone enjoyed reading the book.

Thank you all!

Jerry
