(Hearing Test and Ear Cleaning) Not exactly a Modd but..

Post by Toy Maker » Wed Jul 06, 2011 12:31 pm

I just scheduled an appointment with a local audiologist. They used to be my deaf girlfriends Audiologist, and I KNOW they know their shit.
I'm going to document everything....

I told them I want my hearing checked, and documented. Then I am going for a full ear canal cleaning. and then we will run the same hearing test again, and document that as well.

I have read a few Audiophile threads over the last couple weeks where some people have had their ears cleaned, and swear they can hear higher frequencies now. But none of the documented anything, and did not do before and after testing.

The whole thing will run about $150 and take about an hour or so. I'm scheduled for Friday the 15th at 3:00pm. I can't wait to see what the outcome is.

For YEARS, I have thought my hearing has been a little lower in my right ear, and have always heard more detail in music coming from the left channel.
So it should be a fun, and hopefully positive experiment to see what the final outcome will be.

Here's what I'm hoping for, but I doubt I have that much shit in my ears...

What did you say? Speak louder.

Seriously, about once a year, I make an appt. with my Ears, Nose and Throat DR. Cleans the wax out of my ears with some sort of high tech vacuum. Yes, it does make a difference. Have a lot of wax buildup due to having swimmer's ear constantly when younger. Grew up on a lake, fungus in ears on a regular basis. :(

In addition, I can't hear squat above 12K due to all of the rock concerts I attended when younger. Terri and I are still regulars, but now we wear ear plugs.

Was that her ear they were cleaning or her......?

add: goto healthline.cc and checkout/order some Nerve Complex as well....that shit has done more to improve my "system" than just about anything. But don't expect overnight results: I'd say give it at least a month or two before expecting to hear a big difference...but once it "kicks in"; you will!

Reminds me of the old 3 Dog Night song where the guy has his eyes closed because he don't want to see what is going on --"Mama Told Me Not To Come"

Hearing loss can be a blessing as to most of today's music -- :-&

Don't want to go to an ear Doc for cleaning?

Try Debrox...

I use it monthly and it gets rid of a lot of "buildup". However, I do not stick anything in my ears so the suction thing as seen in the photo below is never used. It does a great job for these ears.

I use Debrox. The "suction thing" is only supposed to be used to rinse your ear out with warm water~  8)

Wouldn't it be wonderful if all it took to restore hearing was a good cleaning? That video, I wonder if it is typical of the average ear? If so, there has GOT to be an audible improvement of HF response. I'd do almost anything to be able to hear the sparkling highs again that I enjoyed in the 80s.
Take care,
