Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.

James, any update on this?Toy Maker wrote:I'd suggest not having this guy work on any ribbons....
From the photos this is a amitur work at best.
No clue what he's replacing the original material with but it WILL NOT sound right, that I can guarantee.
As soon as we are able to find a new supplier, we will be back to repairs. Just have to be patient.
Can you say... BUZZZZZZZZZ

Re: New Ribbon Repair Option??
Much earlier in this thread there was a discussion of Magic M re on ebay his offer to repair Carver ribbons. I know nothing about his ability to do so. However I do know "Doc" from past dealings and he is an good honest man. He repaired my Epicure 3.0 tweeter when no one, and I mean no one was even willing to look at it. The tweeter is unique to the 3.0s and was only made for that speaker. It is very complex. He sent me a written description of what he tried and failed with and what he finally succeeded with. I'll wager Micheal had 6-8 hrs labor and he not only fixed it but his charge was $75 plus $25 shipping and $4.25 misc for $104.We have texted and talked on other things. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. If I need a ribbon repair I would be calling Ed but Micheal is a good guy.
