700B and a little TLC

Sometimes you get lucky and all they need is a few joints resoldered, a couple bulbs, some deoxite and an extensive cleaning.

Then you just enjoy it for another decade or two.

That's one hell of a restoration job you got there. She looks to be cherry now. Nice job.
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

Krylon semi-flat black is the perfect match for the chassis. Its just getting harder and harder to find.

Re: 700B and a little TLC

The PL700B has a slight 120Hz buzzing in the speakers when the pots are turned midway.
You can eliminate that by sanding a spot around a bolt hole and grounding the anodized
aluminum faceplate to the chasis.

Actually something like this refurb require more patience and knowledge than real skill. Knowing what to look for, what are common issues, and important to me, what products make it look good again.
