Carver TL 3100 R602 Resistor value?

Post by MycarverTFM35 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:45 pm

Hoping someone can help me find the resistor value on a TL 3100 CD player circuit board. The resistor is burnt beyond recognition cannot tell what value it is. The location on the board is R602. I tried finding a schematic online withought any luck .. any help would be appreciated..

R602 part # =KA16ST102J

KA=carbon type
16S= 1/6 wattage
T=?
102= 1k value
J= + or - 5% tolerance

This is what I came up with!!!!!

Eddie's right, but I've never seen a 1/6 W 1kΩ resistor. Reisstors usually come in ¼, ½ or 1W varieties.
It should sound like it isn't there!

Thanks very much Eddie for the info, I wasn't sure if i would ever find it. Bill mentioned that the wattage seemed low (1/6 watt) if so, wouldn't it be safer if i use a larger wattage resistor to make sure,? say i use a 1/4 watt or 1/2 watt ?

Thanks again guys:)
Mike

If the resistor is tiny, go with ¼. If it's larger, go with ½W. It won't matter. The 1kΩ is the key.
