Take a look at the power supply board on the pre that the phono works in.
As you look at the PS board, from the right side of the preamp, at the back edge of the board you should see a jumper over two pins.
Look at your remote pre in the same place. You will probably see two pins with no jumper.
Pull the jumper, along with the phonoboard and the shorter cable and put them all into your remote pre.
That is what I did and it all worked perfectly.
What is confusing is that the tubes light up (filament supply) even without the jumper that brings high voltage to the phonoboard. So, one would think everything is fine, when in fact the tubes have no high voltage supply.
Let us know if that works.
