Carver A-220 Amplifier

My current system's made up of two bridged A-760x's in front, and A-220 for rear ambience through a Yamaha DSP. I bought all these new, and still have the manuals and packing. The 760's have been rock solid, but the 220 not so much, as went in for warranty repair when nearly new. Well it's dead again, with the green power light on and very dim meter lighting. Changed some system wiring around, with the second 760 now running the rear channels, but gonna fix the 220 eventually. I'm more than capable of these repairs, as been working on electronics for years. Also find the more technical information the better. Have every manual, diagram for the 760's, but very little on the 220. Figuring the 760's schematic's pretty close, but any help would be appreciated, as gonna be a real pain just getting this thing out of it's installation place. Mark

Don't know shit about an A-220 either.
It should sound like it isn't there!

Re: Carver A-220 Amplifier
Thanks for the responses, as actually have all the factory user manuals, packing, ext. The 220's were a very limited run, so not many documents on them. Really just got it to physically match the other Carver stuff I have. Guess I'll just pull it apart, starting with the power supply and output transistors. If bad power transformer secondary windings, have to evaluate scrapping it vs a call to Rita. I'm ok for now swapping to different amps, but a shame seeing the dead 220 totally dark. Mark

Give Rolland a call. Rita is no more !
