Well I have the new capacitors in, the new relay in, the new meters in.
The amp plays fine and sounds good. It still takes about five minutes for the relay to kick on.
Anybody know what I should go after next ? I'm thinking some sort of rectifier something ??????????

Sounds like a thermal problem to me. Something is preventing the relay from kicking in until it warms up sufficiently. It's probably something shorted that expands and un-shorts when warm.

Got any quicky ideas of what to look at Bill ? I only have about thirty bucks into this thing so far. Maybe I should just let it be until it dies ? Maybe it'll never die ! Thanks BillD.

No, that kind of problem is hard to track. You might want to leave it on forever.

check the solder joints on the protection side, and or, on mine. it had a bad transistor in the protect circuit, this in turn did not turn on the relay.

I'm loving this little shit right now as I type this. New caps made a world of difference. I took Bill D's advice and turn it on in the morning and leave it on. Sure wish I could figure it out. It's not worth sending it in to fix it IMHO. It sounds great as it is. Hope it keeps going.
