Carver SD/A-360 CDP Wont PLay Disc

All,
Appreciate any advice. I have a SD/A-360 which will not play a disc. It can locate the disc fine - at least it shows the disc and track is found via the display. When I select/depress play nothing happens. If you have any hints - thanks. Otherwise I need a repair shop and guesetimate on fixing as I would not repair if too costly.

Maybe a dumb Q....did you try it in another CD player? Or won't play ANY disk?

Take the top off the unit and see if the disk is spinning when you hit play. May be a belt problem.

yeah, tried several discs, did the technician shuffle - un-plug, plug back in. Still nothing.

I finally ripped it apart just now expecting nothing. I cleaned the optic and wheel contacts for the disc. Works now, go figure.... Sorry for the 'false' alarm?!....

Welcome!! Glad to hear you got it handled... as far as paying to have them fixed, I've bought 3 working units off of eBay for around $70 each!

If it plays music....it must spin- that's the way it's always been!

Very, I mean, VERY rarely do I ever play CDs any more. My Squeezebox is almost always running these days!
