silver 7t pegs meter

My new 7t is doa out of the box. With no input or output hooked up the meter pegs then starts bouncing. Should I be looking for a power supply regulation problem or a output transistor shorted?

Very pleased with the speakers but I havn't had a lot of time to devote to placement yet. I have bought a ct-26v and a 7t and both arrived doa, so that has taken what little time i have.
That really sucks!
Don't know a thing about either one. However, I am sure someone will chime in.
I have to ask, if you just purchased these and they arrived DOA, can you send them back? Or, if you paid with Paypal, dispute and file a claim. Have you contacted the seller and what was his response?

If it's the power supply I'm pretty sure you're up the creek without a paddle. Fixing is an option if not. Me...return it and wait on another PAIR that work!!!
In reality, it only matters what it sounds like to YOU!!!
Re: silver 7t pegs meter
any thoughts , the seller says he checked it before shipping and it worked fine. If thats true I cant imagine something shorting out during shipping. Maybe a bad connection?
Re: silver 7t pegs meter
HRDROKN just had the same amp delivered with damage from the transformer coming loose.....have you opened it up yet?

Open up the hood and visually check very carefully for any shipping damage.... IF seller is telling the truth (that it worked fine before shipment), then almost has to be some kind of shipping damage...

Re: silver 7t pegs meter
The thought about shipping damage is about what I am thinking. I have opened it up and have yet to find anything obvious. I bought just the one because you have so start somewhere and I kind of wanted to see if it would be better on my AL-lll's that my m4.0t .
Re: silver 7t pegs meter
I would return it. I can tell you first hand that the power of these will be more than adequate to power the ALII's. The sound will be slightly different but there is no worries about it being able to power them. A DOA amplifier is just that. Nothing more than a doorstop.
The seller needs to make this right, not you. Oh, my manners. Welcome to the Carver forum.

Re: silver 7t pegs meter
If something got jarred in shipping, which is a possibility, check for a loose solder joint(s) on the supply board. I have had this before. Bad, loose solder joint on a cap.
